North Terrace Campus Lower Level Site Redevelopment - Adelaide University, Adelaide

Projects / Educational / Science & Research / Urban Design & Masterplanning

Under the design leadership of Romaldo Giurgola supported by partner Administrative Partner Tim Brown, MGT Architects were successful in an invited design competition and subsequently commissioned by the university to design and document the $40 million, five-year expansion and renovation to buildings in the Lower-Level Site precinct of the University’s North Terrace campus.

The project has provided this portion of the campus with a New Molecular Life Sciences Building, and a New Engineering & Mathematical Sciences Building.  Included in the project was a major upgrade of the services infrastructure for the precinct, the establishment of a significant landscaped space on the axis of the lawn area, and the design and co-ordination of significant renovations to other existing University structures within the area.

As successors to MGT, Guida Moseley Brown Architects has subsequently designed an addition to accommodate the Proteomics laboratory, completed in 2007.
